Prateik Babbar kisses first love Evelyn Sharma!

Evelyn Sharma has been kissed! It so happens that Prateik Babbar had fallen head-over-heels for the sparkling gal and planted a hot one on her lips, much before he consolidated his love for his lifetime companion.

 Image

Now now! Before jump to conclusions, let us tell you that this is the way Evelyn’s role unfolds in the new Prateik starrer Issaq.

But more than her first on-screen kiss, Evelyn is a tad concerned about how she will look or be evaluated for her overall performance. “Issaq was the first movie I shot for. Since then I’ve honed my acting skills many times,” she remarks.

 Image

“The actress in me evolved as I acted in films like Nautanki Saala and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani,” says Evelyn and adds that she’s a bit nervous about how people will judge her in Issaq.

But considering her career has been on a constant upswing, we don’t think the gal as anything to worry about.

Coming up is yet another interesting character in Yaariyaan; the directorial debut of T-Series’ head honcho Bhushan Kumar’s wife Divya Kumar.

This followed by two more films she’s learnt to have just tucked in her over-flowing kitty. 2013 is turning out to be quite a roller-coaster ride for the newbie.

Iranian beauty Mandana Karimi to debut in Vikram Bhatt’s Bhaag Johnny

Beauty and Bollywood go hand in hand since the days of Madhubala and Meena Kumari. Be it Sharmila Tagore, Zeenat Aman, Parveen Babi, Aishwarya Rai or Katrina Kaif; they’ve all impressed us by their looks before they made a mark with their talent.

 Image

Now joining the list of the industry’s most gorgeous new faces, is a stunner called Mandana Karimi.

 Image

An import from Iran, the babe will hit the silver screen in maverick director Vikram Bhatt’s forthcoming film Bhaag Johnny as a lead alongside Kunal Khemu and Zoa Morani.

 Image

Born to an Indian father and an Iranian mother, Mandana grew up in Tehran, before globetrotting and landing in India and being discovered by Vikram Bhatt. The gal may be a looker, but the actress in her is more concerned about versatility.

 Image

“I don’t want to be known just for my looks,” she quips. “I’m ready to experiment with roles from everything cliché to bizarre. My aim is to enact varied characters with all kinds of shades,” remarks Mandana. But ask her about her role in Bhaag Johnny and all she says is, “Wait and watch. Let me not spoil the surprise.”

 Image

Coming from a foreign country, one might think that Mandana would have to learn Hindi first. But the gal reveals, “I can speak Hindi pretty well, though I’m working on perfecting my accent now.”

What’s more! Mandana has walked the ramp for many fashion designers including JJ Valaya, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, Rohit Bal, Anna Singh, Satya Paul and even done an advertisement for Royal Stag with none other than the Badshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan, and another one for Sony Ericsson with Kareena Kapoor.

With her debut film nearing completion, Mandana sure makes an interesting debutante to watch for!

Evelyn Sharma secretly celebrates her 23rdbirthday in pomp and style!

High on the heels of superhits Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Nautanki Saala, actress and fashionista Evelyn Sharma brought in her 23rd birthday with a lot of zest and zing at Bandra hotspot Polpo this week.

 ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

And though she celebrated in typical Bollywood pomp and style, surprisingly the event was kept a hush-hush affair from prying cameras. Even some paparazzi was cleverly misled while her party raged on till late night with flowing red wine and a Cinderella-engraved cake.

In attendance were personalities from the fashion, film and business circles. Some of the names we stumbled upon include actors Prateik Babbar, Nathalia Kaur, Izabelle Leite, Madhura Naik, business tycoon Ashish Raheja, ace designer Rocky S, Sonam and Paras Modi, producers Dhaval Gada of PEN and Vishal Gurnani of The Entertainment Hub, photographer Vikram Bawa, singer Aditi Singh Sharma and DJ Deepesh Sharma aka Mr Right.

Having returned from IIFA last week, Evelyn is now gearing up for her next two releases this year. While she has a role with Prateik Babbar in Issaq (Manish Tiwary’s Hindi remake of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet), the gal will also be seen playing an angelic dream girl in T-Series’ Yaariyaan; the directorial debut of Super Cassettes icon Bhushan Kumar’s wife Divya Kumar.

A rocking year indeed!

Evelyn Sharma turns hotter and sexier!

Following the footsteps of Hollywood superstars Megan Fox, Eva Mendes or Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, the in-demand Bollywood actress and fashionista Evelyn Sharma, has been roped in to endorse the leading lingerie brand Bodycare in India.

 Image

“Evelyn is fast-emerging a trendsetter. Last year, she created history, becoming the only contemporary actress to have signed five movies before a single release. Now she becomes the first Bollywood actress among many to endorse a lingerie brand,” remarked her publicist Dale Bhagwagar.

Having made a mark as the-sweet-girl-next-door in her debut movie From Sydney With Love, Evelyn was seen as a leading lady with Vicky Donor-star Ayushmann Khurrana and Kunal Roy Kapur of Delhi Belly fame in Rohan Sippy’s recent hit Nautanki Saala.

She followed it, playing a sexy ditz, flirting away with none other than heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor in this year’s biggest blockbuster, Ayan Mukerji’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, made under Karan Johar’s banner Dharma Productions.

 Image

Coming up; is a role in Issaq with Prateik Babbar where, for the first time, Evelyn will be seen kissing on the big screen, in this Manish Tiwari Hindi remake of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

Evelyn is also shooting for T-Series’ Yaariyaan, playing an angelic dream girl. This movie is the directorial debut of Super Cassettes icon Bhushan Kumar’s wife Divya Kumar.

Returning from her first IIFA experience, word on the street is, Bollywood’s new ‘it girl’ has signed two more movies in the lead already! Way to go.

YJHD and Nautanki Saala success gives Evelyn Sharma a ‘hottie boost’

When actress and fashionista Evelyn Sharma made her foray into Bollywood a year ago, not many expected the newbie from Germany to make her mark in Indian films!

 Image

But the sexy babe improved her Hindi and bagged five films within a few months. Now, two of her movies Ayan Mukherji’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (YJHD) and Rohan Sippy’s Nautanki Saala, have emerged runaway hits.

What’s more! YJHD, where Evelyn was seen in the key role of a hottie alongside Ranbir Kapoor, is the biggest blockbuster of the year.

 Image

Last year, Bollywood saw Rowdy Rathore, Housefull 2 and Agneepath cross the 100 crore mark. But this year, that honour has belonged only to YJHD until now.

Reveling in the success, Evelyn has been receiving meatier and more glamourous offers for movies, endorsements and fashion events. “Brand Evelyn has managed a sort of balancing act between being an actress, model and a fashionista,” quips her publicist Dale Bhagwagar.

Her next release is Issaq with Prateik Babbar, followed by Yaariyaan; the directorial debut of T-Series’ head honcho Bhushan Kumar’s wife Divya Kumar. A super-packed year indeed!

What shall we say, but that luck, talent and success make an unbeatable combination. And Evelyn’s got it all neatly tucked in her kitty!

Bollywood LEAPs to contribute to Uttarakhand aid

While actors like the living legend Amitabh Bachchan have been tweeting and expressing their sadness about the Uttarakhand floods, fellow UP-ite and popular film and television actor Sushant Singh (known for his intense roles in films like The Legend Of Bhagat Singh, Jungle, 16th December etc and currently seen as the anchor of the TV show Savdhan India) has got down to the task ofraising funds for the rehabilitation of victims of the natural calamity in the Northern state.

Supporting the LEAP Foundation of Dehradun, which is working actively on giving a livelihood to those who have lost their houses, shops etc to the floods, Sushant has taken it upon himself to lead a campaign appealing to the nation to chip in for the rehabilitation process.

 Image

Says Sushant, “Mountains have moved us and now together let us move the mountains. I have found my mission and there is no stopping now. As a nation it’s time to prove our will to the world, and as people of this country, it’s time to show the politicians the real meaning of ‘service by the people, of the people, and for the people’.”

Leading film exhibitor and distributor Akshaye Rathi, who is also involved with the LEAP Foundation’s initiative says, “As citizens of India, it’s our duty to ensure that we do whatever we can for the victims of the Uttarakhand floods. The rehabilitation process is a massive task and we are trying to do our bit by contributing to it.”

Dehradun-based veteran academician Anurag Sangal; the brain behind the LEAP Foundation, says, “We have initiated a program to make an impact on the lives of the victims by providing jobs, education, homes etc; all with the support of our friends.”

We hope others from the Bollywood brigade will follow Sushant’s lead and support similar initiatives. To know how to contribute to the LEAP Foundation and support the cause, click the following link: http://www.leapqualityeducation.com/details.php?pgID=mn_2583.
